| Congratulations on the MOT. Did you fit the blue door? If yes any problems and what was the donor car?

| Unfortunatly i didn't fit the blue door it was done by one of the previous owners, it seems my kitten was thrashed around a farm for a while before i got it, shes got alot of war wounds.
The front doors fit fine, there doesnt seem to be any issues with them fitting, and I can't see any alterations, the donor car i think was either a robin or rialto .. but the bonnet and rear door have also been replaced at some point ..

| Thrashed round a farm... sounds familiar. The farmers boy next door wants to buy my Robin for a bit of fun :-( Anyway;
Thanks for the info and quick response.

Thanks for the info and quick response. a kitten and mk1 use thinner less heavy duty hinges than the rialto and later robins, you cant find a rialto/robin door using the hinges off them you have to use the mk1/kitten hinges to make it work

| Thank you for that pointer.
The front edge of the drivers door on the Kitten has been rivetted to the inner moulding and it is not lining up when closed. The storm wind caught my Robin's door in November and overstrained it causing some audible cracking (ouch) and it now hangs about 3 -4 mm low at the back edge.
Once I have the Kitten home I can assess it then tackle the better least work/expense car first. If it is possible I will try and get the Kitten back on the road before the winter.
I guess I am going to get good at removing, repairing and refitting doors!

I guess I am going to get good at removing, repairing and refitting doors! kittens are double skinned compared there 3 wheeled counterparts, I have seen kittens before where the skins have split and people have riveted them back together, it doesn't last as the rivets pull through, needs fiberglassing or another door most people get two rialto doors off a scrap car or something

I learn something new each day I found that out myself the hard way, spent a couple of hours struggling to fit new hinges to my old kitten passenger door..... ....only to then find out I couldn't shut the door cos they are so thick they push the door to far back to close lol

| Ouch! The problem with experience is that you have to have it before you can learn from it. | |
