PostSubject: Newbie needs help re; boot seal & door .   Newbie needs help re; boot seal & door . EmptySat Jan 17, 2015 12:04 am

Hello ,  I'm hoping someone out there can help me .  I'm currently in negotiations to buy a 1994 Robin LX .  After several emails back & forth the seller has now told me that the car needs a new boot seal . I've searched on-line but have been unable to source one . Am I looking for hen's teeth ?  He also told me '' the passenger door leans out slightly and is prone to raining in - you can't bend it back it being fibre .''   Is this fixable or are we talking replacement ?   I'd be most grateful for any help / advice .

I don't know if you can get new rear door seals .. try soaking them in warm water, a replacement door should be simple and easy enough to replace, what colour is the robin?

Thanks for responding . Like the tip regarding the boot seal . However ... I've pretty much given up on this particular Robin ! Turns out it also need re-upholstering and it's missing a wing mirror !!! All of which adds up to being over my budget . I realise it might sound like I'm being a bit picky but as I intend bringing over to France , where we have no spares available , I need it to be in fairly good condition .
( By the way , twas a white one .)
